Overview and Gameplay
RPG Tsukuru 2 is a Super Famicom RPG construction tool, not a fixed adventure. It lets the player build a console-style turn-based RPG by creating maps, heroes, magic, items, enemies, shops, inns, save points, events, switches, and test-play data.
The main loop is editing and checking your own game. You set the title and author, design towns and fields, place enemy areas, write event logic, then enter test play to see how the project works.
Controls And Mechanics
- The directions move the editor cursor and characters during test play, while a confirms choices and b cancels or returns to the previous menu.
- x, y, l, r, start, and select are mainly useful for text-entry tools, menu access, and editor workflow.
- This is a 1-player creation tool with no competitive or co-op multiplayer mode.
Version Notes
The original game is the Japan-only RPGツクール2. This version uses the MageCraft English translation patch v1.05a, so it should be described as a fan-translated release rather than an official English localization.
