Overview and Gameplay

2 Games in 1: Sonic Battle + ChuChu Rocket! places two Sonic Team titles on one Game Boy Advance cartridge. Sonic Battle follows Sonic and the learning robot Emerl through eight character-focused story episodes. Arena victories unlock locations and award combat skills that Emerl can equip within a limited Skill Point total.

ChuChu Rocket! sends automatically moving ChuChus through maze stages. Directional arrows guide them toward rockets while KapuKapus threaten to eat them or remove collected mice. Modes include competitive battles, timed Stage Challenges, Puzzle stages, and stage and character editors.

Controls And Mechanics

In Sonic Battle, fighters move freely through isometric arenas, dash, jump, guard, recover health, chain attacks, pursue launched opponents, and activate equipped special moves. The Ichikoro Gauge fills through damage, guarding, and healing; a special attack can score an immediate knockout when the gauge is full.

In ChuChu Rocket!, the cursor places directional arrows on the floor. Only three player arrows remain active at once, and placing another removes the oldest. Competitive rounds score captured ChuChus, while Puzzle Mode requires every mouse to reach safety with a limited arrow supply. Link-cable modes support simultaneous free-for-all and two-versus-two matches.

Version Notes

This official European compilation includes six languages in Sonic Battle. ChuChu Rocket! supports five languages and presents the Game Boy Advance adaptation with built-in puzzles, editors, and single-cartridge multiplayer battles.
