Overview and Gameplay
Sonic discovers a damaged robot on Emerald Beach and names it Emerl. Dr. Eggman pursues the machine while Sonic, Tails, Shadow, Rouge, Knuckles, Amy, and Cream guide it through eight connected story episodes.
Arena battles support up to four fighters on freely traversable stages. Story victories award skills and Skill Points used to customize Emerl’s movement, attacks, guarding, healing, special moves, colors, and stance. Battle Mode offers knockout, timed, survival, and team rules, while Challenge Mode scores five consecutive fights. Training and five unlockable minigames provide additional modes.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves, dashes with a double tap, and chases launched opponents. A jumps and performs an Air Action, while B starts combos and changes attacks when combined with movement, jumping, dashing, or pursuit. L guards, restores health when held, and rotates the arena view with a double tap. R uses the selected ground or air special, and Start pauses.
Power, Shot, and Set specials are assigned to ground, air, and defense roles before battle. Filling the Ichikoro Gauge allows the next successful special to cause an immediate knockout. Linked systems support competitive free-for-all and team battles, while Single-Pak play supports multiplayer minigames.
