Overview and Gameplay
Captain America and Hawkeye cross a map of American cities to rescue the captured Iron Man and Vision. This NES title is a separate side-scrolling action-platform game, not a port of Data East’s better-known arcade beat ’em up.
Each city contains hazards, enemies, switches, moving platforms, and Key Crystals needed to reveal the exit. Captain America fights with his shield and close-range attacks, while Hawkeye fires arrows in several directions. Power Stones permanently improve life and attack strength, rewarding exploration across the campaign.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions: Move, crouch, aim, climb, enter doors, and perform directional attacks.
- A: Jump, with additional platform actions when combined with directions.
- B: Throw Captain America’s shield or fire Hawkeye’s arrows.
- Start: Open the Change/Return status screen.
- Select: Pause the game.
- Battle Mode: Two players fight simultaneously in a best-of-five versus match. The story campaign remains single-player.
