Overview and Gameplay
Captain American follows Captain America and Hawkeye as they travel across a city map to rescue Iron Man and Vision. Each side-scrolling stage contains enemies, hazards, item pods, a Key Crystal, and an exit that activates after the crystal is found. The two heroes can occupy different locations, and stages may be tackled in different orders. Black Hole encounters interrupt the route with enemy battles that must be cleared before escape.
Controls And Mechanics
Captain America throws his shield, punches while crouching, performs jumping kicks, and charges with a running tackle. Hawkeye fires arrows in several directions and can attack while jumping or crouching. Power Stones raise strength and life capacity, with stronger shield and arrow attacks unlocked at higher totals. Energy restores health, One Up items add continues, Rescue Items free captured heroes, and point items increase the score.
Battle Mode supports simultaneous two-player versus matches. Player 1 selects Captain America or Hawkeye, while Player 2 selects Wizard, Ultron, or Crossbones. The first fighter to win three of five rounds takes the match.
