Overview and Gameplay
Harvest Moon is an unauthorized Chinese farming game based on Harvest Moon 2 GBC. The daily routine centers on clearing fields, preparing soil, planting usable seeds, harvesting crops, placing produce in the shipping box, visiting village shops, and sleeping to advance the calendar.
The village includes seed, tool, animal, and carpenter shops along with a clinic, church, library, restaurant, and public square. Calendar events include birthdays, New Year celebrations, typhoons, and heavy snow.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves the farmer and navigates menus. A interacts, confirms purchases, picks up objects, and uses the selected tool. B cycles through available tools in work areas.
Money replaces a score and comes mainly from shipped crops. Storms can block outdoor work and damage planted fields. The conversion carries every available tool at once and removes fatigue, while several livestock, fishing, and crop systems function only partially.
Version Notes
This unlicensed Famicom adaptation presents Chinese dialogue, menus, shop text, and item names. It replaces the standard hoe and watering can with upgraded tools, removes dog naming, alters some character palettes, and simplifies the source game’s inventory system.
