Overview and Gameplay

Zelda: Shen Qi De Mao Zi follows Link after Vaati turns Princess Zelda to stone. Link meets the talking cap Ezlo, searches for the Minish, gathers the Earth, Fire, Water, and Wind Elements, and strengthens the sacred blade before confronting Vaati.

Exploration uses top-down towns, houses, roads, dialogue scenes, and environmental puzzles. Enemy encounters shift to a turn-based battle screen with Attack, Magic, Items, and Escape commands. Progression includes character levels, HP, MP, weapons, armor, boots, and rupees.

Controls And Mechanics

The directional pad moves Link and navigates dialogue, equipment, and battle menus. A confirms selections and performs context actions, B cancels or returns through menus, and Start opens the main menu.

Battles award experience and improve Link’s statistics, while stronger enemies appear as his level rises. Boss encounters include Madderpillar, Gleerok, Mazaal, Big Octorok, Gyorg enemies, and Vaati. The title screen provides Start and Continue options for resuming progress.

Version Notes

This unlicensed Chinese NES adaptation rebuilds The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap as a command-based RPG. It uses simplified Chinese text and replaces direct sword combat with random encounters, levels, magic, equipment, and turn-based battles.
