Overview and Gameplay
Jack and Ryu leave Mt. Epin to rescue Chinaland’s emperor from Blu Boltar and the Yoma Clan. Little Ninja Brothers combines an overworld RPG with real-time arena fights, turn-based command battles, towns, shops, equipment, and side-scrolling training courses. Experience raises the brothers’ shared level, while money buys stronger punches, swords, armor, healing items, and travel tools. The campaign uses passwords for progress.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions move the active brother and navigate menus.
- A attacks with the equipped punch or sword and confirms commands.
- B jumps when pressed alone or performs a flip kick with a direction. Entering a direction during a jump uses a Dragon Kick.
- Start opens the battle command menu.
- Two players can control Jack and Ryu simultaneously in cooperative action battles. The separate Field Meeting mode also includes competitive athletic events.
- K marks supply Dragon Kicks, while M marks lead to the temporary Mighty Ball power-up. Some enemies require specific weapons.
Version Notes
The USA release is the English localization of the Japanese Super Chinese 2: Dragon Kid. It changes names and presentation, redraws some Japanese enemy imagery, and increases the random encounter rate.
