Overview and Gameplay
A canceled Capcom shooter carries the Vulgus lineage into a darker NES prototype. In Titan Warriors, the player pilots a small spacecraft through planetary battlefields and space zones, destroying alien forces and bosses on the route toward Vulgus.
Progression is built around six stages, each split into a land zone and a space zone. The game scrolls vertically, uses one-hit deaths, and sends the player through short but demanding areas filled with turrets, corridors, enemy waves, and boss fights.
Controls And Mechanics
- Movement: steer the ship with the directional pad.
- Shooting: fire the main weapon while avoiding enemy shots and scenery hazards.
- Side cannons: attachable pods can be launched outward to widen fire and cover more of the screen.
- Power-ups: upgrades include lasers, diagonal or reflecting shots, speed increases, and stronger pod behavior.
- Play style: Titan Warriors is a solo shooter.
Version Notes
This is the USA prototype of an unreleased NES game. It was also associated with the pre-release name Neo Vulgus, reflecting its connection to Capcom’s arcade shooter Vulgus.
