Overview and Gameplay
On Fury 161, Ripley is armed and sent through a prison complex to rescue cocooned inmates, repair systems, destroy alien eggs, and stop the queen before Weyland-Yutani arrives.
This SNES version is a mission-based action platformer by Probe and LJN. Instead of a simple left-to-right run, each stage uses corridors, ducts, terminals, blueprints, and multiple objectives that must be completed before the next area opens.
Controls And Mechanics
- Weapons: Ripley uses a pulse rifle, grenade launcher, flame thrower, and blowtorch for specific obstacles.
- Navigation: terminals provide mission briefings, area scans, objectives, and maps.
- Motion tracker: the tracker can be toggled during play to help watch for alien movement.
- Progression: the game has six mission areas, passwords, health, ammo tracking, and prison-wide hazards.
- Players: this SNES release is for one player only.
Version Notes
The SNES game is its own mission-focused version of Alien 3, distinct from other platform versions of the same film license.
