Overview and Gameplay
Ardy and his companion Pec search Prismland for the seven pieces of the rainbow before Visconti can claim them. This European SNES release is a colorful side-scrolling platformer with a long 17-scene structure, bosses, map scenes, passwords, and a steady rise in difficulty.
Ardy runs, jumps, hides, climbs, pushes objects, and uses his tail for special jumps and enemy attacks. Pec is central to the game: he can be thrown, used against enemies, and also acts as protection, since taking damage while holding Pec makes Ardy lose Pec first.
Controls And Mechanics
- Pec: throw Pec, use him to attack, catch objects, or help with stage hazards.
- Tail moves: Ardy can stand on his tail, bounce from it, and crush enemies by landing tail-first.
- Items: collecting 100 star chips gives an extra life.
- Progression: passwords use fruit positions to return to later scenes.
- Players: this SNES release is for one player only.
Version Notes
The European version keeps the title Ardy Lightfoot and was published by Titus Software. International releases changed several Japanese-version details, including the Scene 6 Catry sequence.
