Overview and Gameplay

Chavez II is a Spanish-language SNES boxing game built around Julio César Chávez branding and the engine behind Boxing Legends of the Ring. It uses a behind-the-boxer view, with Exhibition fights and Career mode focused on climbing toward a championship bout.

Players choose or create a boxer, trade punches through timed rounds, and try to win by knockout, technical knockout, or judges’ decision. Matches track knockdowns, punch totals, landing percentage, and visible fighter damage.

Controls And Mechanics

  • The directional pad moves, blocks, ducks, and modifies punch direction.
  • Y handles jabs and left-side punch variations.
  • A handles right-side crosses, uppercuts, knockdown recovery, and clinch breaks.
  • Select uses the super punch, while L and R together start a clinch.
  • Two-player mode is direct competitive boxing, not cooperative play.

Version Notes

This release is the Spanish-language Chávez-branded version related to Boxing Legends of the Ring. It is separate from the first Chavez, which used the Riddick Bowe Boxing base.
