Overview and Gameplay
Zarak has seized key military and oil facilities, and the player leads a coalition air squadron through a campaign of precision strikes. Desert Fighter is the European SNES title for the isometric air-combat game also known as A.S.P.: Air Strike Patrol.
Missions focus on destroying strategic targets such as radar sites, SCUD launchers, air bases, supply depots, weapons factories, elite guard units, and Zarak HQ. Each operation has a time limit and a required destruction goal, so success depends on choosing targets carefully and returning before the mission fails.
Controls And Mechanics
- Fly combat sorties using an F-15 Strike Eagle or A-10 Thunderbolt II.
- Select weapons packages before missions, including missiles, bombs, cluster weapons, cannons, flares, and afterburner use depending on aircraft.
- Manage fuel, mission time, budget, political status, and public support across the campaign.
- This is a single-player game with no two-player mode.
Version Notes
