Overview and Gameplay

A combat helicopter cuts through vertical-scrolling battlefields in Dimension Force, the Japanese Super Famicom title later released in North America as D-Force. It is an early SNES shooter with a simple arcade structure and a distinctive altitude system in selected stages.

The player shoots through enemy aircraft, ground targets, mid-bosses, and bosses across shooting and exploration areas. Some defeated enemies drop power-up chips that strengthen the helicopter’s weapons, adding stronger cannons, missiles, and later advanced firepower.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Standard stages focus on steering, firing, avoiding enemy shots, and collecting weapon upgrades.
  • Exploration stages let the helicopter raise or lower altitude, changing how enemies and obstacles are approached.
  • Options include difficulty, sound settings, music settings, and starting lives.
  • This is a single-player shooter with no verified two-player mode.

Version Notes

This Japanese release uses the title Dimension Force. The same SNES game was released in North America as D-Force.
