Overview and Gameplay

Billy and Jimmy Lee return to confront the Shadow Warriors after Marian becomes tied to their criminal plot. Return of Double Dragon is the Japanese Super Famicom version of the SNES beat ’em up known overseas as Super Double Dragon.

Players move through seven side-scrolling stages, clearing waves of enemies, using weapons, fighting bosses, and relying on timing as much as repeated attacks.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Move with directions, punch with Y, kick with A, guard with B, and jump with X.
  • L and R charge Dragon Power, which enables stronger special techniques when the gauge is built up.
  • Guarding can interrupt enemy pressure and set up counters, grabs, and throws.
  • Two players can fight simultaneously as a cooperative team, with mode options that affect friendly fire.

Version Notes

This Japanese release uses the title Return of Double Dragon and includes meaningful differences from the Western Super Double Dragon, including an English options menu, balance changes, weapon behavior differences, and longer final-stage content. The fixed-3 tag is a dump label, not a public release title.
