Overview and Gameplay

A village errand grows into a search across connected real and dreamlike worlds, where the hero uncovers lost identity, hidden kingdoms, and the threat behind Mudo. Heart Beat’s Super Famicom RPG is a major late-era Dragon Quest entry, known for its large quest, animated battles, party reserves, and class growth.

Players explore towns, dungeons, and overworld regions, fight turn-based random battles, gather equipment, follow story flags, and build a party through story events, jobs, and monster recruitment.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Combat uses traditional turn-based commands with attacks, spells, items, equipment, tactics, and party management.
  • The vocation system lets characters change jobs, gain proficiency through battles, learn skills, and unlock advanced classes.
  • The adventure moves between two connected worlds, with vehicles, dungeons, bosses, mini medals, casino play, and optional content.
  • The Super Famicom version includes limited monster recruitment through the Beast Master system.
  • The game is single-player only.

Version Notes

This is an English-translated version of the Japanese Super Famicom game Dragon Quest VI: Maboroshi no Daichi. The later official English title is Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation.
