Overview and Gameplay
Cecil begins as the dark knight captain of Baron’s Red Wings, then questions the king’s orders after the raid on Mysidia. This North American SNES release is the game later known worldwide as Final Fantasy IV.
The adventure follows Cecil and a changing cast through towns, dungeons, airship travel, crystal conflicts, and story-driven battles. It helped define the SNES RPG era with named characters, dramatic party changes, and the Active Time Battle system.
