Overview and Gameplay
The maze moves, not the ball. On the Ball asks the player to rotate each course so gravity rolls the ball through twisting paths, dead ends, bumpers, bricks, and time bonuses before the clock runs out.
Progression is divided into four Planes, each with four Courses, and passwords allow later Planes to be resumed. The game is the European SNES release of Taito’s arcade game Cameltry, adapted for play with the Super Nintendo controller and optional mouse support.
Controls And Mechanics
- Rotation speed matters: different inputs turn the maze slowly, at medium speed, or quickly.
- The shake action can jolt the ball, helping it escape tight spots or recover momentum.
- Blocks, flags, mystery bonuses, and timer effects shape both routing and score.
- Two-player mode is alternating competition, with players taking turns to set the best score for each round.
Version Notes
This is the European PAL version titled On the Ball. The original arcade and Japanese Super Famicom title is Cameltry.
