Overview and Gameplay

Alien racers, weaponized cars, and a rock soundtrack define Rock N’ Roll Racing, an isometric combat racer from Silicon & Synapse, the studio later known as Blizzard Entertainment.

Players choose a driver and vehicle, race across planetary divisions, earn cash and points, then buy upgrades for speed, armor, tires, shocks, weapons, boosts, and mines. Placement matters, but blasting rivals and grabbing money can be just as important for long-term progress.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Directions steer the car and brake, while B controls the throttle.
  • Y fires the main weapon, X uses boost, and A drops mines.
  • L and R perform hard turns for sharper cornering on isometric tracks.
  • Weapons, boosts, and mines have limited charges that refresh each lap.
  • Two-player mode is competitive racing, not co-op.

Version Notes

This is the European PAL English SNES version. It is separate from the U.S. and Japanese releases, with no special subtitle or public revision label.

Release And Credits

  • Released for SNES in Europe in 1994.
  • Developed by Silicon & Synapse.
  • Published by Interplay.
