Overview and Gameplay
China is split among rival warlords, and your task is to turn one ruler into the master of all 43 cities. Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire is Koei’s SNES historical strategy simulation based on the Three Kingdoms era.
Each scenario begins with different territories, officers, and political pressure. You recruit and reward officers, develop cities, manage gold and provisions, negotiate alliances, plot against enemies, and launch turn-based campaigns when diplomacy fails.
Controls And Mechanics
- The directions move the map cursor and scroll menus, while a confirms choices and b cancels or ends a command turn.
- y opens command help, x cycles through vassal cities, l and r flip information pages, start opens sorting or battle information, and select opens options.
- Multiplayer is hot-seat strategy: players choose different rulers and take turns through the same menu-driven campaign, competing rather than playing co-op.
Version Notes
This is the USA English SNES release of Sangokushi IV, also known as San Goku Shi IV. It is the standard SNES release, not the separate Power-Up Kit edition.
