Overview and Gameplay
An alien mechanical sphere threatens Earth in Super Aleste, Compile’s fast vertical shooter for SNES. Known in North America as Space Megaforce, it sends the Super Aleste craft through 12 areas filled with ground targets, enemy waves, bosses, and score-focused survival.
The game is especially known for its weapon system: eight weapon types, six power levels, bombs, and shot-control variations that change how each weapon behaves.
Controls And Mechanics
- The ship moves in eight directions while firing continuously through dense enemy formations.
- Weapon pods switch the current weapon, power chips raise its level, and bomb capsules add screen-clearing attacks.
- Being hit can downgrade the weapon before costing a ship, making power management central to survival.
- Speed can be adjusted during play, and the game is single-player only.
