Overview and Gameplay
Bomberman is captured by the Five Bad Bombers and forced through an alien base full of traps, switches, and bombable maze rooms. Super Bomberman 2 keeps the grid-based blast timing of the series while pushing Normal Game toward more puzzle-shaped stage layouts.
The player destroys enemies, breaks blocks, triggers capsules or switches, opens exits, and manages score, lives, time limits, passwords, bomb count, and fire power across themed rounds.
Controls And Mechanics
- Move around the maze, place bombs, and use blast chains to clear enemies or open routes.
- Power-ups add abilities such as remote detonation, bomb kicking, bomb throwing, block passing, bomb passing, extra fire, extra bombs, and temporary status effects.
- Normal Game is solo only, while Battle Game supports simultaneous versus play with human or computer opponents, including team rules and sudden-death pressure.
Version Notes
This is the European PAL SNES release of Super Bomberman 2. The public title remains unchanged, and the version is distinct from later reprints and other regional releases.
