Overview and Gameplay
Set in the year 2962, Top Gear 3000 turns the SNES racing series into a futuristic galaxy challenge. The championship spans 12 star systems and 48 tracks, with prize money, passwords, vehicle upgrades, weapons, pickups, and fast behind-view racing across alien worlds.
Controls And Mechanics
- Racing: steer through traffic and hazards, accelerate, brake, and use the selected weapon.
- Weapons: cycle through the weapon inventory during races and trigger the active item when needed.
- Upgrades: race earnings can improve the car with stronger parts and futuristic systems.
- Modes: Championship supports one or two players, while VS Mode supports competitive multiplayer up to four players with a multitap.
Version Notes
This is the European PAL SNES release. The Japanese version is titled The Planet’s Champ TG3000. It uses password progression, supports multitap play, and is notable for using the DSP-4 special chip.
