Overview and Gameplay
Lord British calls the hero back to Britannia after the Black Knight begins kidnapping its leaders. Ultima: Runes of Virtue II plays as an overhead action-RPG with four selectable companions: Iolo, Mariah, Shamino, and Dupré.
Exploration centers on towns, castles, ships, dungeons, monsters, object puzzles, and virtue runes. Weapons, magic items, food, potions, and inventory choices shape how each area is handled.
Controls And Mechanics
- Movement also aims weapons and moves the cursor through menus.
- Items are assigned to the right and left hands, then used directly during play.
- The inventory screen pauses the action and lets the player manage equipment and supplies.
- The SNES version is single-player only.
Version Notes
This is the U.S. Super Nintendo release. The Game Boy version came first and includes multiplayer, while this SNES version is a single-player adaptation with stronger graphics and sound.
