Overview and Gameplay
Young robot SASA trains for a mission to investigate the Diani black hole, crossing fields, warehouses, underwater zones, space, and a final gravity-heavy confrontation. This fixed-screen action shooter turns gunfire into movement: every plasma shot pushes SASA in the opposite direction.
Each of the 16 stages is cleared by removing all energy packs. Collected packs restore energy, while packs destroyed by gunfire provide nothing. Energy also powers shots and absorbs damage, so careless movement can leave SASA unable to continue.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions: Aim the plasma gun and walk while grounded.
- A: Fire, using recoil to move through the air or water.
- B: Transfer energy to the other character during two-player play.
- Gravity, buoyancy, currents, zero gravity, and black-hole attraction alter movement between areas.
- Two players control SASA and NANA simultaneously in co-op, with shared objectives and friendly fire.
Version Notes
This Japanese Famicom adaptation expands the 1984 computer game SASA with NANA, simultaneous co-op, energy sharing, and a pause-screen rendition of the “NANA Love Theme.” The original Famicom microphone could accompany the music.
