Overview and Gameplay
Six early Atari arcade games share one late-era SNES cartridge: Asteroids, Battlezone, Centipede, Missile Command, Super Breakout, and Tempest. This European release is a menu-based anthology rather than a single new SNES game.
Each game keeps its arcade scoring focus: survive waves, clear screens, defend targets, break blocks, destroy enemies, and chase higher scores. Options adjust settings such as lives, bonus thresholds, difficulty, speed, and special game-specific rules.
Controls And Mechanics
- Asteroids: rotate, thrust, fire, and use hyperspace while destroying rocks and saucers.
- Battlezone: drive a tank in vector-style combat against tanks, missiles, and super tanks.
- Centipede: move the shooter and fire at insects, mushrooms, and spiders.
- Missile Command: aim crosshairs and launch missiles to defend cities.
- Super Breakout and Tempest: use paddle-style movement for brick breaking or tube shooting.
- Multiplayer: most games support two-player alternating turns, while Battlezone is solo only.
Version Notes
The European PAL release uses the same Atari Collection 1 lineup and was not released for Super Famicom in Japan.
