Overview and Gameplay
Belser’s mechanical sea-creatures threaten the Darius worlds again, sending one or two Silver Hawk pilots into a horizontal shooting campaign. This SNES entry was made for the console rather than ported from an arcade game, keeping the series’ aquatic boss style and branching route structure.
Players fly through side-scrolling stages, destroy enemy waves, collect weapon and shield power-ups, fight large bosses, and choose routes through the stage map toward the final battle.
Controls And Mechanics
- The Silver Hawk fires a forward primary shot and separate peripheral weapons.
- Power-ups improve firepower and defenses during play.
- Losing a ship is less punishing than in many shooters, because collected weapons are not fully stripped away.
- The route map gives the game a limited branching structure between stages.
- Two players can fight simultaneously as a co-op team, with separate red and blue Silver Hawks.
Version Notes
This is the European PAL SNES release of Darius Twin. No separate gameplay changes for this regional version are part of the public game identity.
