Overview and Gameplay
A party of imprisoned champions enters a first-person dungeon to recover the Firestaff and confront the Lord of Chaos. Dungeon Master on SNES adapts FTL Games’ real-time computer RPG with grid-based exploration, survival pressure, puzzles, and party management.
The player chooses one to four champions, then develops them through use of weapons, throwing, spellcasting, and other actions. Food, water, stamina, mana, inventory weight, formation, and wounds all matter during progress through the dungeon.
Controls And Mechanics
- Movement uses the dungeon view and an on-screen pointer, with an alternate direct movement mode available from the controller.
- Combat happens in real time, so timing, positioning, weapon reach, and party formation affect survival.
- Magic uses rune combinations, with spell power and success tied to mana and character proficiency.
- This is a solo game with no two-player mode.
