Overview and Gameplay

Sigurd’s campaign across Jugdral begins as a regional conflict and grows into a two-generation war shaped by bloodlines, inheritance, and political betrayal. Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War is a tactical RPG known for huge maps and long-form strategy.

Players command named units across large battlefields, capture castles, manage weapons, fight enemy armies, and guide the story from Sigurd’s generation to Seliph’s. Relationships in the first generation affect the children, skills, Holy Blood, and inherited power of the second generation.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Turns alternate between player and enemy phases, with units moving and acting through command menus.
  • Large maps emphasize cavalry movement, castle objectives, terrain, positioning, and long-range planning.
  • Love, marriage, inheritance, Holy Blood, skills, weapon repair, arenas, and permanent unit death shape the campaign.
  • This is a single-player strategy RPG with no versus or co-op mode.
