Overview and Gameplay

King Zephiel of Bern invades the continent of Elibe with the aid of dragons. Roy commands the Lycian army across a chapter-based campaign, recruits allies, defeats enemy commanders, and seizes forts or thrones to advance. Optional side chapters contain legendary weapons, while route choices lead through different regions before the final battles.

Completing the campaign unlocks Hard Mode, Trial Maps, and additional records. Support conversations between compatible units develop through repeated deployment and grant battlefield bonuses.

Controls And Mechanics

Units move across square-grid maps during the player phase, then enemy and allied forces act. Swords defeat axes, axes defeat lances, and lances defeat swords, while terrain changes movement, defense, and avoidance. Weapons and tomes lose durability with use.

Combat, healing, and other actions grant experience. Promotion items advance eligible classes, shops sell equipment, and the convoy stores spare supplies. Defeated allies are permanently removed, while Roy’s defeat ends the chapter.

Link Arena supports competitive battles for two to four players using teams prepared from campaign save files. Participants take alternating turns choosing attackers, targets, and weapons.
