Overview and Gameplay
Fox McCloud and the Star Fox team launch prototype Arwing fighters to stop Andross from conquering the Lylat system. Star Fox is a Super FX-powered polygon rail shooter and a major SNES technical milestone, built around behind-the-ship combat, obstacle dodging, boss battles, and three course routes toward Venom.

- Weapons: Nova Bombs clear heavy threats, Twin Blaster upgrades strengthen firepower, and pickups restore shields or repair damaged wings.
- Defense: rolls and barrel rolls help avoid danger and can reflect some enemy lasers.
- Scoring: destroyed enemies add points, with extra credits awarded at score milestones.
- Mode: single-player only, with no alternating, versus, simultaneous, or co-op multiplayer.
