Overview and Gameplay
Super Battleship turns the familiar grid-search board game into a slower naval strategy game with two modes: classic Battleship against the computer and an expanded tactical campaign. In the main campaign, players command fleets through seven levels and 16 missions, moving ships across maps, engaging enemies, using radar and sonar, repairing damage, and completing objectives such as escorts, raids, rescues, ambushes, and fleet destruction.
Controls And Mechanics
- Players position ships, choose commands, aim weapons, and fire from close-up battle views.
- Weapons include guns, torpedoes, missiles, and depth charges, with targeting handled differently by weapon type.
- Radar, sonar, satellite map viewing, mission objectives, and damage repair teams are central to campaign play.
- This SNES version is single-player only, with no verified two-player or cooperative mode.
