Overview and Gameplay
Ray, a young descendant of the Aqutallion warriors, sets out against Homncruse while gathering other chosen children and restoring a ruined world. Tecmo Secret of the Stars is a traditional turn-based SNES RPG with overworld travel, towns, dungeons, random battles, equipment, magic, and character leveling.
Its most distinctive structure is the split between the main Aqutallion party and the Kustera party. The groups have separate roles, money, items, and weapons, with Kustera members supporting exploration and treasure recovery outside the main hero party.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions move characters and move the cursor in menus.
- A confirms commands, advances text, talks, searches objects, and operates vehicles.
- B cancels commands and opens the main command window.
- Start begins the game.
- Battles use commands such as Fight, Magic, Guard, Item, Auto, and Run.
- Personal Magic and Unity Magic add spell options, including combined attacks by the Aqutallion party.
Version Notes
This is the United States SNES release. The Japanese version is titled Aqutallion. The game supports battery-backed saving with three save files.
