Overview and Gameplay

Rodney Copperbottom travels to Robot City hoping to work for Bigweld, but Ratchet has taken control and outdated robots face destruction. Rodney explores an interconnected city, helps the Rusties, returns lost objects, and gathers parts for new inventions.

Eleven linked areas open through exploration, Transit Hubs, and Wonderbot upgrades. New abilities let Rodney glide farther, bounce to higher ledges, ride zip lines, drill through marked surfaces, and send Wonderbot into narrow passages. Hidden gallery images and activities such as Oil Rush, the Transit System, and the Zip Line Challenge provide additional objectives.

Controls And Mechanics

Rodney runs, jumps, swings a wrench, and switches among ranged tools. The Scrap Launcher uses ammunition, Magno Grenades pull nearby enemies into an explosive field, and the Electro Zapper fires homing electrical shots. Health pickups restore damage, while permanent upgrades extend the health meter.

Wonderbot can be controlled directly for small spaces and special traversal actions. Gadget pieces must be positioned and rotated correctly on blueprints before an invention becomes usable. Oil Rush awards points for serving canisters while missed customers reduce the remaining chances.

Version Notes

The Game Boy Advance edition uses a side-view, interconnected Robot City built around exploration, item-delivery tasks, gadget construction, and Wonderbot abilities.
