Overview and Gameplay
Sonic 3D Blast 6 sends Sonic through a side-scrolling campaign built from the Somari engine. Normal play begins in Marble Zone and continues through acts based on Spring Yard, Labyrinth, Star Light, and Final Zone. Standard zones contain three acts, with Doctor Robotnik appearing as the boss at the end of each zone.
Rings protect Sonic from damage and add to the score. Collecting 100 rings before finishing an act opens a Special Stage. The game tracks time and score, while long stages must be cleared without normal checkpoints.
Controls And Mechanics
Sonic runs, jumps into enemies, rolls while moving, and performs a Spin Dash from a crouching position. Slopes and loops preserve the fast movement of the underlying engine, although rolling limits directional control. Taking damage removes up to three rings, and losing a life restarts the current attempt. Start begins the game and pauses play.
Version Notes
This 1997 unlicensed Famicom/NES release was developed by Hummer Team. It uses a later Somari-derived engine with Sonic character graphics, a Sonic 3D Blast-style title screen, and between-stage start screens. The campaign remains a conventional 2D platform game.
