Ultimate Mortal Kombat 4 is an unlicensed NES and Famicom fighting game from Hummer Team’s pirate Mortal Kombat line. It is not an official Midway release, but a bootleg variant related to the team’s Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat 4 games.
The game presents one-on-one side-view fights with a large character select screen, repeated fighter slots, and simplified combat compared with official arcade entries. Single-player play sends the fighter through CPU opponents, while two-player mode supports versus matches.
Controls And Mechanics
- Fights use basic movement, attacks, and simple special-move inputs.
- The character select screen shows many slots, but several fighters are reused or duplicated.
- Known characters in this bootleg family include Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, Sonya, Kano, Nightwolf, Stryker, and Shao Kahn.
- Stages are adapted in the style of Mortal Kombat arenas, including rooftop, subway, pit, and chamber-style backgrounds.
- Two players can fight against each other in versus play. There is no co-op mode.
