Overview and Gameplay
Poko Nyan! Henpokorin Adventure is a Japan-only Super Famicom platformer based on Fujiko F. Fujio’s Poko Nyan character. The small cat-tanuki-like hero travels through colorful stages, collecting food items, reaching goals, and using transformation powers to pass obstacles.
Each area contains many food items, but only a set amount is required to clear the stage. The game is forgiving compared with many SNES platformers, focusing more on exploration, collection, and score than strict survival.
Controls And Mechanics
- Poko Nyan can move, jump, push blocks, and drop through certain floors.
- The Henpokorin power transforms him into forms such as a kangaroo, bird, or hedgehog.
- Kangaroo form improves jumping, bird form allows flight, and hedgehog form rolls along the ground.
- Hidden stars can unlock bonus stages, including small block-pushing challenges.
Version Notes
This is the Japanese Super Famicom release. It was not released as a western SNES cartridge and is separate from the Game Boy Poko Nyan title.
