Overview and Gameplay
Bomb blocks turn Tetris-style stacking into a more explosive puzzle in Super Bombliss. Players drop pieces into the well, clear full lines, and use bomb-marked blocks to blast away surrounding pieces, with larger bomb setups creating wider explosions.
The Super Famicom version is a standalone Bombliss release, separate from Super Tetris 2 + Bombliss. It includes Contest stages, Puzzle mode challenges, CPU battles, and simultaneous two-player versus play.
Controls And Mechanics
- Move and rotate falling pieces to build lines and position bomb blocks.
- Bomb explosions clear nearby blocks, rewarding planned placement instead of simple line clearing alone.
- Puzzle mode asks you to clear fixed boards with limited pieces, while versus modes pit you against CPU opponents or another player.
Version Notes
This is the Japanese Super Famicom retail version of Super Bombliss. It should be treated as the standalone cartridge release, not the Game Boy title known overseas as Tetris Blast or the later Satellaview competition version.
