Overview and Gameplay
N. Trance has hypnotized Coco and Crunch, and Crash travels through hyperspace to rescue them and stop N. Tropy. Each map area leads to side-scrolling stages, vehicle sequences, boss battles, and special challenges. Crash collects Power Crystals to advance, while rescued characters become playable in designated stages. Boss victories unlock moves such as the Super Slide, Rocket Jump, Tornado Spin, and Turbo Run.
Controls And Mechanics
Crash runs, crouches, crawls, jumps, double jumps, spins, slides, and performs a body slam. Wumpa Fruit grants an extra life at 100, Aku Aku masks absorb hits, and checkpoints preserve progress within a stage. Breaking every crate awards a Clear Gem, while colored Gem Shards open additional stages. Time Trials begin after a Crystal is collected; numbered crates stop the timer, and fast finishes earn Sapphire, Gold, or Platinum Relics.
Some stages use separate rules for wakeboarding, magic-carpet flight, a helicopter pack, Coco’s spacecraft, and rolling Atlas Sphere courses. Two-player Game Link competition includes simultaneous level races and Atlas Sphere arena modes.
