Overview and Gameplay
Scurge: Hive follows bounty hunter Jenosa Arma as she investigates an overrun research facility on planet Inos. After becoming infected by the Scurge organism, she must explore interconnected laboratories, industrial zones, mines, and contaminated regions while searching for its source.
Security cards, machinery, movement upgrades, elemental weapons, and boss encounters open new routes through the facility. Defeated enemies release bio-matter that restores health and grants experience, improving Jenosa’s health and firepower. Completed chapters award scores and ranks, while later difficulty settings and Boss Rush unlock through repeated completion.
Controls And Mechanics
Jenosa fires an arm-mounted weapon, jumps across isometric platforms, moves objects with a tether gauntlet, and uses abilities such as Cryostasis, Adrenaline, and Plasma Bombs. EMP, Combustion, and Dissipator shots affect biological, mechanical, and energy enemies differently.
The infection meter rises continuously and accelerates on contaminated ground. Reaching full infection drains health rapidly. Decontamination Platforms reduce infection, restore Jenosa, and save progress. Environmental puzzles use switches, movable objects, frozen enemies, elemental devices, pipes, ledges, and moving platforms.
