Overview and Gameplay
Elevator Action: Old & New follows agents infiltrating guarded buildings to recover secret documents from red doors and escape from the lowest floor. Elevators and stairways connect each level while enemies patrol halls and fire from doorways.
Old mode presents the score-driven rules of Taito’s 1983 arcade game. New mode uses redesigned graphics, selectable agents, a life gauge, limited ammunition, time limits, and eight building sets divided into four sections. Finishing stages advances the campaign, and completing New mode with the regular agents unlocks another character.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves, crouches, enters doors, and operates elevators. A jumps, B fires or punches, and R throws grenades; holding a direction while using R rolls a grenade along the floor.
Blue doors can supply ammunition, grenades, health-restoring food, extra time, weapons, or a temporary disguise. Old mode tracks score and lives, while New mode ends a stage when health or time runs out. A link-cable battle mode supports two-player competitive play on separate Game Boy Advance systems.
Version Notes
This Japan-exclusive Game Boy Advance release includes the classic Old mode and a separate New mode built around stage progression, character abilities, expanded enemies, items, saving, and multiplayer battles.
