Overview and Gameplay
FIFA Soccer 2003 brings club and international football to the Game Boy Advance. Each match follows standard football rules: control a team, create scoring chances, defend its goal, and finish with more goals than the opposition.
Friendly matches provide quick standalone games, while competition modes include domestic leagues and European club tournaments. League standings and tournament results determine progression. Squad selection and tactical settings allow teams to be arranged before kickoff.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves the active footballer. Attacking controls cover passing, shooting, lobbing the ball, and sprinting. Defensive controls switch the selected player and perform conservative or hard tackles. Start pauses the match, while Select activates an instant replay.
Two players can compete simultaneously through a Game Boy Advance link cable. Both participants control separate teams in head-to-head matches.
Version Notes
The North American release uses the title FIFA Soccer 2003, while the European edition is titled FIFA Football 2003. This cartridge includes English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian language options.
