Overview and Gameplay

FIFA Soccer 2005 presents club and international football from the 2004–05 season with more than 350 licensed teams. Friendly mode starts a single match, while Competition mode follows cup and knockout structures. Career mode runs for five seasons and measures progress through club objectives. Challenge mode begins from preset scores and time limits, requiring a specific result before the final whistle.

Controls And Mechanics

Matches use passing, through balls, one-two combinations, crosses, headers, volleys, lobs, and shots. Defending includes tackles, player switching, secondary pressure, and bringing the goalkeeper forward. Fouls, offsides, free kicks, corners, throw-ins, penalties, halftime, and full-time results follow standard football rules. Two-player Game Link Cable matches support simultaneous head-to-head play.
