Overview and Gameplay
FIFA Soccer 06 lets players control licensed clubs and national teams in exhibition matches, full seasons, tournaments, and a multi-season Career mode. Career progress depends on match results, Season Objectives, Manager Prestige, and Coaching Bonuses that improve player skills. Nineteen competitions use league, group, or knockout formats. Historical Challenges begin from preset match situations and require specific comebacks or winning margins; completing them unlocks Custom Challenge creation.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves players and aims passes, shots, throw-ins, and set pieces. A shoots or tackles, while B passes or switches the controlled defender. L modifies passes and tackles, calls a supporting defender, or changes receivers during throw-ins. R activates sprinting. Free kicks and penalties use direction, power, and accuracy inputs. Matches are decided by goals, while Career also tracks Prestige Points and objectives. Two-player Game Link Cable matches provide simultaneous head-to-head play with one cartridge per system.
Version Notes
This dedicated Game Boy Advance edition includes handheld versions of Career, Season, Tournament, Challenge, Instant Replay, and link-cable modes. The multilingual cartridge supports English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Dutch.
