Overview and Gameplay
Ice Age follows Manny and Sid as they help return the human baby Roshan to his tribe. Ten side-scrolling levels cross snowy ground, rivers, caves, and volcanic areas. Manny handles standard platform stages, while Sid appears in faster stages that scroll automatically and restart from a checkpoint if he falls behind.
Each level records collected nuts and awards a Golden Nut when the total reaches at least 40. Collecting every Golden Nut unlocks a bonus stage. Six-character passwords restore progress and allow completed levels to be replayed.
Controls And Mechanics
Manny can jump, stomp through weak ground, break walls with a tusk strike, throw collected Big Nuts, and send Roshan upward toward elevated items. Sid jumps and uses a spinning attack while keeping pace with the moving screen.
Ordinary nuts also act as a damage reserve. Enemy contact removes nuts, and taking damage with none remaining restarts the level. Big Nuts serve as projectiles against enemies and certain obstacles.
