Overview and Gameplay
Lara deciphers the Tome of Ezekiel and searches for three magical stones before the Teg-Du-Bhorez cult can awaken the Great Grey One. The campaign moves through Swedish mountains, Angkor Wat, southern Italy, and the cult’s ruined stronghold.
Isometric levels contain tombs, caves, temples, traps, enemies, switches, and puzzle objects. Lara climbs ladders and ledges, crosses gaps, opens sealed routes, and defeats supernatural creatures and bosses. Each new level provides a four-letter password for continuing the campaign.
Controls And Mechanics
Lara runs in eight directions, jumps toward platforms, hangs from ledges, shimmies, pulls herself up, and performs safety drops. Sprinting consumes a rechargeable meter and enables longer running jumps.
Pistols have unlimited ammunition, while Uzis and Golden Guns use collected ammo. Holding fire charges a stronger Golden Gun shot. Small and large medikits restore health, and the inventory stores weapons, ammunition, keys, statues, and other quest items. Enemy attacks, falls, and traps reduce health.
Version Notes
This original Game Boy Advance installment uses an isometric viewpoint and password-based progression designed for handheld play. The North American cartridge includes English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian.
