Overview and Gameplay
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell follows Third Echelon operative Sam Fisher as he investigates missing agents and a growing security crisis in Georgia. The Game Boy Advance edition presents the campaign as side-scrolling stealth missions built around patrol routes, security systems, climbing, and objective-based infiltration.
Training leads into nine story missions across locations such as a police station, defense ministry, oil refinery, shipyard, nuclear plant, and abattoir. Mission Select allows cleared stages to be replayed, while Bonus Maps provide shorter timed and score-based challenges.
Controls And Mechanics
Sam walks, runs, crouches, climbs, hangs from ledges, rappels, and uses zip-lines to move through guarded areas. Darkness lowers his visibility, while guards, cameras, noise, and repeated alarms can end a mission.
Close-range strikes, a silenced pistol with tranquilizer ammunition, gas grenades, night and thermal vision, sticky cameras, access cards, medkits, lockpicks, and computer terminals support infiltration. Some objectives switch to an aiming view for sniping or photography. Mission results track factors including completion time, alarms, ammunition use, and opened safes.
Version Notes
This USA cartridge includes English, French, and Spanish. It adapts the original 3D game into 2D side-scrolling stages with handheld-specific layouts, traversal challenges, and bonus missions.
