Overview and Gameplay
Boktai 3: Sabata’s Counterattack follows Django after his escape from an underground prison. He investigates renewed Immortal activity, Sabata’s apparent involvement, and a plan surrounding the destructive beast Vanargand. Top-down dungeons contain enemies, traps, switches, stealth routes, and sunlight-dependent puzzles. Defeated bosses are sealed in coffins and purified with a solar-powered Pile Driver.
Gun Del Sol provides ranged attacks, while forged longswords, rapiers, greatswords, curved swords, and katanas cover melee combat. Cleared dungeons reopen as timed eradication, escape, and search missions ranked from D to S. Coffin Bike stages add side-scrolling travel, customization, time trials, and two-player races.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves Django or steers the motorcycle. A interacts, charges solar energy, or activates a bike special action. B attacks or fires the bike weapon. L uses a special action, activates Trance, or boosts. R looks ahead or accelerates, Start opens the menu, and Select modifies quick-change commands.
Real-world sunlight recharges Gun Del Sol, powers devices, changes dungeon conditions, and enables boss purification. Attacks fill the Trance Gauge, allowing temporary Sol Django or Black Django forms. Mission ranks and race results reward faster, cleaner completion.
