Overview and Gameplay
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory follows Charlie Bucket after he finds a Golden Ticket and enters Willy Wonka’s factory. Adventure mode contains 14 side-scrolling stages built around platforming, machinery, environmental hazards, and room-specific objectives. Charlie repairs factory systems, rescues other ticket winners, directs Oompa-Loompas, and collects Square Candies That Look Round. Gathering all 25 candies in an applicable stage unlocks an image for the Oompa-Loompa Album, while collecting the letters in WONKA opens bonus mini-games.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad runs, looks, crawls, and aims during contextual sequences. A jumps and operates certain devices. B reads signs, talks, activates switches, throws carried items, and pushes movable objects when held with a direction. L commands nearby Oompa-Loompas, while R lets Charlie sneak past resting robots.
An energy meter decreases when Charlie touches hazards. Wonka Bars restore energy, Everlasting Gobstoppers add tries, and losing all energy costs a try. Wriggle-Sweets distract Grabberbots, Exploding Candy breaks obstacles, Fizzy Lifting Drinks permit flight, and Speed Taffy increases movement speed. Mini-games use separate scoring and try rules.
