Overview and Gameplay
Mickey and Minnie arrive at a circus controlled by Baron Pete and discover that Donald Duck, Pluto, and the performers have disappeared. One hero crosses six stages, from the Haunted Circus and Jungle to the Frozen Plains and Baron’s Castle, to rescue them.
Stages contain enemies, bosses, hidden rooms, treasure chests, and shops. Progress unlocks the Sweeper, Ranger, and Cowboy or Cowgirl costumes. Their abilities vacuum enemies into coins, hook onto climbing points, fire corks, and charge forward on a wooden horse.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves, crouches, and climbs. A jumps or swims, while B grabs and throws stunned enemies or uses the active costume ability. Hearts measure health, Tries act as lives, and losing every Try ends the game. Coins buy healing items, power refills, and upgrades; Super Hearts increase maximum health, and character dolls grant another Try.
Two-player mode supports simultaneous cooperative play through a Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable. Each player controls Mickey or Minnie on a separate system with a separate cartridge.
Version Notes
This Game Boy Advance adaptation of The Great Circus Mystery Starring Mickey & Minnie adds cartridge saving and cooperative link play. The North American cartridge includes English, French, and German text.
